Commonwealth Africa Anti-Corruption Centre Website Launch

The Commonwealth Africa Anti-Corruption Centre (CAACC) launched its website at a glittering cocktail at the Gaborone International Convention Centre.  The CAACC staff welcomed stakeholders from different Government Ministries, Embassies, Development Organisations, Consultants in Governance and Anti-Corruption, and representatives from the Anti –Corruption Agencies in Commonwealth Africa.

Dr Roger Koranteng, Governance Adviser & Anti-Corruption at the Commonwealth Secretariat, who was the Guest of Honour, commended the CAACC staff for the achievement of setting up the website. “We have reached the point in the internet revolution where organizational websites are not only common but expected. If an organisation doesn’t have a website, it doesn’t appear to exist. With more people using search engines to find information than ever before it is critical that the CAACC has a strong web presence. Moreover, a website allows people to learn about an organisation in an efficient manner because they can use a search engine or click on a link to find the information that they are looking for without reading through long paragraphs of information about an organization in a newspaper or journal” said Dr Koranteng.

Guests were treated to an exciting performance by Tshepi Live band, which played songs from various African countries to cater for the diverse background of those in attendance. The event was indeed a success.
